For Rebel Diaz there is one goal that has come to define their mission- social change. The Chicago natives, now residing in The Bronx, became household names in 2006 after an exceptional performance at an immigrant rights rally in New York City. For Rebel Diaz, though, there is no one sound that defines them. They spit their bilingual lyrics over everything from underground boom-bap to the more popular production that has come to define commercial rap.
Their practical, hands on approach to social change has given them the opportunity to visit a number of Colleges and Universities to do speaking events, speak on panels and facilitate workshops. Their social activism has led them to open a community arts center in The South Bronx- called simply, The Rebel Diaz Arts Collective. Their more recent endeavor is their first full-length album "The Radical Dilemma" which features Dead Prez on "Which Side Are You On".
