For most, the road to the apex of underground Hip-Hop can be fraught with formidable roadblocks, as was the case for Jeru The Damaja. Jeru was first heard on "Who's The Man" from Gang Starrs' 1992 "Daily Operation" album. Two years later he released his first full-length album "The Sun Rises In The East", which was produced by DJ Premier. "Sun" had all the makings of a classic with tracks like "You Can't Stop The Prophet", "Come Clean", and Da Bitchez". In 1996 he returned with his second effort "Wrath Of The Math" also produced by DJ Premier. Jeru has since gone on to do three more albums, not the least of which was 2007s' "Still Rising".
Now, the Hip-Hop veteran from Brooklyn is back with a new track entitled "Solar Flares", produced by Large professor. "Solar Flares" is from Jerus' forthcoming EP "The Hammer" which will feature guest appearances from The Beatnuts, PF Cuttin' and more. The new project has no official release date as yet, but it should prove to be Jerus' reintroduction into the world of underground Hip-Hop.
