I have come to the conclusion that "Change" is the most overrated
word in the dictionary. You may say "Oh wise, handsome, stunningly
dapper one ( you may not have said it. But that's EXACTLY what you were
thinking), why would you say that? I say that because, about 95% of the
time, the only thing that comes with talking about change.... is a whole
lot more talking about change. Its like people know exactly what they
have to do to make their dreams come true but are unwilling to make it
happen. There could be many reasons for this (fear of success, lack of
desire to commit, smelly armpits, etc.). Whatever it is, people allow it
to stifle their growth. But there is a word that's used less often than
change. It is a word, though, that actually goes hand in hand with
change but NEVER gets put into the same sentence with it. That word is
WORK. How can a person make any real change without the willingness to
put in WORK to achieve their goals? How can a person have a successful
relationship without putting WORK in? How can a student achieve
honor roll status without putting in WORK for it? How can you do
anything in this life without WORK? And no, I will not stop capitalizing
the word WORK for this entire blog. I want all of the "We want change"
people to understand that they need to change the language up just a
little bit. Instead of saying "I'm going to make a change," start
saying, "I'm going to WORK!"
If you say that you are going to WORK, I
will take your effort more serious because 1). WORK requires you to be
quiet, put your head down and handle your business, 2.) WORK requires
actual effort and a burning desire to achieve your goals and 3.) WORK
will lead to change in one way or another. Its simple mathematics:
Change minus the WORK required to make it happen is just a wish. I am
still waiting to find a magic lamp that I can rub for a genie to appear
and grant my three wishes (and after I receive my billion dollars
and 500 stripper wives on unicorns, I may wish for world peace!).
Until that day comes, I will just continue to put in the WORK required
to achieve greatness!!!
By the way, I apologize to Ms. Jackson, my information systems professor, as this blog was typed during her class time.
Also, this Blog was inspired by Loaded Lux! Don't know who he is, Google him!!!
